The Senior Engineer is a technical leader responsible for managing and executing complex engineering projects. The position combines deep subject matter expertise with project leadership, client management, and mentoring responsibilities. Senior Engineers are expected to oversee the technical integrity of deliverables, drive project success, and provide strategic input to both clients and internal teams. They are critical to ensuring projects meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in the design and execution of complex civil, environmental, municipal, and infrastructure projects.
  • Serve as technical lead and engineer-of-record on projects.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of calculations, reports, permitting documents, design plans, and other work products for successful project completion.
  • Interact with clients, the public, design teams, and agencies.
  • Manage engineering scopes, budgets, schedules, and QA/QC reviews.
  • Perform and/or coordinate work schedules and assign tasks for staff.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment and uphold the company’s values.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members, helping them develop technical skills and professional growth.
  • Assist with or perform annual staff performance reviews and career development.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and scoping meetings.
  • Participate in client development activities, as directed.
  • Maintain professional certifications in fields of expertise, as needed.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience of permitting and regulatory requirements in PA, including PADEP Clean Water Program and Public Water Supply Program.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field of study.
  • Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years job-related experience. Knowledge in Wastewater Collection and Treatment, Water Treatment and Distribution, Act 537 Planning, Water Quality Management Permitting, Public Water Supply Permitting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and other external sources.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS preferred but not required.
  • PADEP water and/or wastewater operator’s license is highly desirable but not required.
